Fred was truly down to earth bloke. A solid English man, with so many talents and skills. The very best of the British grafter. One of freds talents that stood out to me was his drawing skills. Fred was a treasure. As an American at times I have a little trouble understanding him due to his accent but I watched so many of his films I get 98% of it. Some I just have to assume based on context.

This takes me back. My wife and I watched Fred many times over the years whilst enjoying a glass of ale and a plate of liver and tongue sandwiches. There was one episode where Fred was drinking and climbing and Terry from next door called in and watched it with us. Terry's a vegetarian but he had a glass of stout, Simpler times.
